On Mahavira Jayanti, we commemorate the birth anniversary of Mahavira Swami, the last Tirthankara in the Jaina tradition and one of the brightest stars in the pantheon of great human beings born on Indian soil. This apostle of non-violence preached that Right Faith (samyak-darshana) + Right Knowledge (samyak-jnana) + Right Conduct (samyak-charitra) were necessary to achieve liberation. His teachings are as relevant today as they were more than two and a half millennia ago.
